| It was friends
as well who helped us in our challenge. A neighbour
from Bisham lent us the three portraits in the drawing
room of the Hoby children from Bisham Abbey. Their
grandmother was a Stonor. Other friends lent us
tapestries and furniture from the Catholic house
of Sawston, near Cambridge. Most recently, in 2006,
a distant connection has given us a beautiful family
dinner service made by Minton in 1865.
