INTRODUCTION | HISTORY | THE FRONT GARDEN | THE ITALIANATE PLEASURE GARDEN |
THE OLD KITCHEN GARDEN | THE FOOT PATH

Before coming down the slope, visitors may wish to walk past the yew trees to the western section of the garden. This large area was the Kitchen Garden until 1980 when Lady Camoys totally replanted it with significant new borders, Irish yews, new fruit trees, box hedges, blocks of irises which flower in May, old fashioned roses and peonies which bloom in June as well as many honeysuckles, clematis and lavenders. The design is further delineated by the apple and plum trees, whose blossom in spring is sensational.
