FAQ’s

Your questions answered

We’ve put together a detailed list of your most common questions and hope that we’re able to answer any questions you may have.

What are the Check in and Check out times?

Check in is from 15.30 on the day of your booking and we ask that you vacate by 10.30 on the final day of your booking.

On odd occasions there may be an opportunity for an early check in or a late check out for a small extra fee, but please do check with the office first.

Are children allowed?

Well behaved children are always welcome and the Shepherds huts, despite being incredibly luxurious and romantic have been designed to sleep two small children.

If you do have children with you, you may want to book a visit to our wonderful new children’s adventure Park, Tumblestone Hollow for a small extra fee.

Disabled access
The shepherds huts have not been specifically designed for wheelchair access and do involve a step up into them for entry. However once inside, accommodation is flat and on a
single level.

Wifi and entertainment

The Shepherds Huts have super fast Wifi and a high quality bluetooth music system and as much nature surrounding you as you could ever need.

Covid cleaning

The cleaning regimes due to Covid mean that we need to allow time between guests for athorough cleaning and airing. It is for this reason that we need to allow a little longer than normal for changeover periods.

Can I bring my own food and drink into the Shepherds Huts?

Yes of course. They are self catering and have a super effective (but quite compact) kitchen area. You are therefore welcome to bring your own food We do serve hot and cold drinks, including delicious Illy coffee, and snacks every day from the Visitor Centre at the Bottom of the Hill, our own delicious wood fired pizzas from The Rumble Hut on many days and also hot food and Afternoon tea in the Pantry on Sundays.

We do also offer the option of delicious local food boxes that can be delivered to you for your stay or placed in the fridge before your arrival. See the food page for more details.

There is also a BBQ available for each of the Shepherds Huts and they are stocked with Charcoal and firelighters. Please use these responsibly and give the BBQ a clean with the cleaning utensils provided when you have finished, or before you leave.

Can I bring my Dog?

We love our dogs too, but sadly at this time, dogs are not allowed within the Shepherds Huts as the space is quite small and if you are exploring and adventuring, the dogs could get quite mucky, with little space for cleaning. Please DO NOT bring your dog with you and leave them in your car. We will break car windows to release dogs if they are in any distress.

Is smoking allowed in the Shepherds Huts?

Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is strictly prohibited inside the Shepherds Huts. If we do find evidence of smoking, we will add an additional £100 cleaning fee to allow us to fully steam clean the accommodation to remove odours before the next guests arrive.

Do you have baby changing facilities?

No, sorry, the Shepherds Huts do not have stand alone baby changing facilities.

What do I do if I need to change my booking date?

If you do need to change the date of your booking for any reason, please call the office on 01491 638 587. We will do everything we can to accommodate your request, but as we are booked up much of the time, this may not always be possible.
