- Summer Intern

See below for more details.

Stonor Park is an historic, privately owned stately home and garden open to the public located north of Henley-on-Thames in South Oxfordshire. Stonor has been the residence of the Stonor Family for over 850 years making it one of the oldest family homes still lived in today. The earliest parts of the house date from the 12th Century.

The house contains a unique collection of family treasures collected over the centuries, including family portraits, old masters, furniture and sculptures as well as one of the oldest family archives in Great Britain. In addition to opening the house to the public, the Stonors have recently built an exciting adventure playground for children in the grounds, and they are hosting a wide range of events this year including the Bentley Summer Concours, The Henley Country Craft Show, Gifford Circus and the Stonor Food Festival.

We are looking for an intern for the summer period to support our events and summer programme. The right candidate will have experience working at events and a demonstrable interest or experience in using social media.  Duties will include preparation and support for events, designing and executing summer activities, assisting front of house and engaging with visitors.

Requirements and qualifications: Studying either History or an arts-based subject at University, interest in Historic Houses, heritage or events and looking for a career within this sector.  Experience using social media for marketing purposes is essential.

The role is full time on a flexible rota which will include regular weekend working and occasional evenings and early starts.  The deadline for applications is 22/03/2019 and interviews will be held during the Easter Holidays.  Candidates must have access to their own transport as Stonor Park is not accessible by public transport.
